Patrick C. Hammett is an Assistant Research Scientist, and is the Manager of the Manufacturing Systems Group at OSAT. He is involved in research developing and implementing world-class manufacturing, quality, and management practices in the production and development of the automotive body. Dr. Hammett conducts research to assist the stamping industry in achieving world-class performance levels in product development lead-time and dimensional quality for automotive bodies. Dr. Hammett is a principal researcher and supervisor for several research projects to optimize the automotive body development process at General Motors Corporation and Fuji Dietec Corporation. He also serves as co-director of Six Sigma for the University’s Center for Professional Development and is an adjunct assistant professor for the Industrial and Operations Engineering Department, where he teaches courses on Quality Engineering, Probability and Statistics, Six Sigma, and Introduction to Engineering Design. Dr. Hammett has a Ph.D. in Industrial and Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan, a Master of Science in Engineering from the University of Michigan, and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Purdue University. Prior to the University of Michigan, Pat worked for General Motors as a manufacturing supervisor. |
